About the position

As a Senior Manager in the United States National Tax services at PwC, you will play a crucial role in helping clients navigate complex tax issues and implement effective tax strategies in response to legislative changes. You will focus on managing tax obligations related to mergers and acquisitions, ensuring compliance, and optimizing cash flows throughout the deal process. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams to solve complex business challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Manage acquisition and merger risk for clients.
  • Structure acquisitions to optimize net cash flows.
  • Conduct pre-acquisition or pre-sale due diligence.
  • Ensure tax compliance requirements are met throughout the deal process.
  • Encourage team members to voice their opinions and ideas.
  • Handle ambiguous and unstructured problems effectively.
  • Initiate open coaching conversations at all levels.
  • Anticipate stakeholder needs and develop potential solutions.
  • Contribute technical knowledge in the area of tax specialization.
  • Foster an environment where people and technology thrive together.
  • Navigate complexities of cross-border and diverse teams.
  • Build trust through open conversations with teams and stakeholders.
  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration/Management, or a Juris Doctorate (JD), Master of Laws (LLM), or Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax consulting, particularly in M&A practices.
  • Proven in-depth knowledge of partnership taxation and transactional analytics.
  • Experience in tax consulting services, transaction structuring, and financial modeling.
  • Technical skills in US federal income tax law as it relates to partnerships and tax-efficient structuring.

Nice-to-haves

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) preferred.
  • CPA or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials preferred.
  • Experience managing consulting engagements for a global network of professional services firms.
