About the position

The Research Program Coordinator II will provide technical and professional research services within the Department of Public Health Sciences at MUSC. This role involves overseeing research studies focused on pregnant and postpartum women and their offspring, particularly within the ECHO program. The coordinator will manage day-to-day operations, including subject recruitment, data collection, and ensuring regulatory compliance, while also collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage the day-to-day operations of research studies according to the research protocol.
  • Collect, prepare, process, ship, and maintain inventory of research specimens.
  • Evaluate participants for entry into research studies and conduct screening and recruitment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase research participation and retention.
  • Manage data collection and entry functions, assisting with data quality assurance monitoring.
  • Abstract medical records as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to federal regulations, IRB standards, and protocol requirements.
  • Responsible for budgeting of clinical components of the project and developing standard operating procedures.
  • Problem-solve issues that arise during study procedures and participate in troubleshooting with the study team.
  • Maintain and update supplies needed for the study.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Two years of relevant program experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage projects independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in data collection and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to clinical research.
  • Ability to collect and process biologic samples for research studies.
  • Fluency in Spanish.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a competitive salary range of $46,655 - $86,321 per year.
  • Scheduled weekly hours of 40 with a day shift from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
