About the position

The Customer Ambassador position at the bank is designed to provide quality and efficient service to customers who prefer face-to-face interactions. This role primarily functions as a teller while also handling responsibilities related to new accounts. The ambassador will process routine transactions, promote bank products, and ensure customer needs are met effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality customer service through courteous and accurate handling of transactions.
  • Perform specialized tasks such as preparing cashier's checks, cash advances, and ATM balancing.
  • Identify customers, validate and cash checks, accept cash and checks for deposit, and check accuracy of deposit slips.
  • Accurately balance assigned cash drawer.
  • May serve as Vault Teller or Vault Teller Backup.
  • May be responsible for operating and balancing a Teller Cash Recycler (TCR).
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls and policies and procedures.
  • Answer inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts and other bank-related products; attempt to resolve issues and problems with customer's accounts.
  • Develop knowledge of bank products through independent study of Product Knowledge Manual and general banking knowledge through Professional Development or CFT courses.
  • Complete all required monthly and quarterly training.
  • Accurately process and/or report garnishments, tax levies, subpoenas, counterfeit currency reports, mail deposits, and night deposit logs.
  • Provide a complete range of customer services, including opening new accounts and explaining available products and services.
  • Receive deposits and ensure that all accounts are properly processed.
  • Establish retirement accounts and make arrangements for direct deposits.
  • Complete arrangements and documents for special services such as exchanges of foreign currency.
  • Carry out the financial institution's client retention strategies.
  • Proactively prospect for new business.
  • May serve as Publicity Coordinator and/or Digital Champion.
  • Actively refer loans, outside lines of business, and other bank services to appropriate specialists.
  • Open and close the office by following established security procedures.
  • Represent the financial institution in community affairs and civic organizations.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One year of teller experience or relevant work experience including clerical, administrative, cash handling, or customer service experience required.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
