About the position

The Universal Banker II position at Peoples Bank is designed to provide exceptional customer service while engaging in sales and service activities within branch locations. The role involves opening deposit accounts, handling customer service transactions, selling and cross-selling bank products, generating consumer loans, and resolving customer service issues. The position aims to contribute directly to the success of the banking center by recognizing sales opportunities and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver superior customer service with a friendly demeanor and willingness to help.
• Develop and retain the customer base by being responsive and timely with correspondence and problem resolution.
• Maintain confidentiality of customer business and ensure trust in all interactions.
• Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify deposit amounts, and examine checks for endorsement and negotiability.
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of consumer lending products to generate and execute loans.
• Perform well in a sales environment and interact professionally with customers and team members.
• Initiate conversations to uncover customer needs and effectively refer them to business partners.
• Complete required training for all bank and branch policies and procedures.
• Interpret documents such as safety rules and loan documents accurately.
• Follow operational standards regarding security, risk management, and compliance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Notes, Word, and Excel).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Reliable transportation.
