About the position

The Universal Banker Operations Specialist Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the branch teller area and supervising Universal Banker I roles. This position plays a crucial role in achieving branch goals by coaching and developing staff, ensuring compliance with bank policies, and delivering exceptional customer service. The supervisor will also handle operational standards, scheduling, and performance reviews while maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the branch teller line.
  • Supervise Universal Banker I roles and ensure proper coverage through scheduling.
  • Meet referral goals and oversee operational standards.
  • Prepare for audits based on Retail Standard Operating Procedures (RSOP).
  • Educate the team on updated policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in ensuring successful audit outcomes.
  • Conduct quarterly and annual reviews of direct reports.
  • Coach and develop staff, providing performance feedback and disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Monitor team performance and report to management.
  • Assist in hiring branch teller line staff.
  • Deliver superior customer service with a friendly demeanor.
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer business.
  • Initiate conversations to uncover customer needs and refer them to platform associates.
  • Resolve customer service issues and offer solutions.
  • Maintain balancing and error records in line with policy.
  • Receive checks and cash for deposit, verifying amounts and endorsements.
  • Follow operational standards regarding security, risk management, and compliance.
  • Complete required training for bank and branch policies and procedures.
  • Meet or exceed sales referrals as set by management.
  • Maintain a well-developed knowledge of products and services offered.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software (Notes, Word, and Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Ability to coach co-workers and address performance issues.
  • Client-focused and a proven team player.
  • Reliable transportation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel for internal education and meetings, including overnight stays.
