About the position

The Universal Banker at Ameris Bank is responsible for serving as a consultant to customers by conducting financial profiles, identifying needs, and promoting banking products and services. This role aims to attract, expand, and retain customer relationships while contributing to the financial growth of the banking center. The position combines responsibilities of both a Teller and a Personal Banker, ensuring adherence to banking regulations and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Conduct customer financial profiles to identify needs and recommend products.
• Establish, expand, and retain high-value consumer and business client relationships.
• Communicate proactively with clients to educate and resolve issues.
• Open new accounts and service existing accounts.
• Achieve defined sales and service goals.
• Provide backup support to other branches and employees as needed.
• Perform accurate transactions and balance the teller drawer.
• Assist and train colleagues, serving as a mentor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 or more years of customer service experience required.
• Cash handling or sales experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office products.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
• Experience in sales.
