About the position

The Private Client Associate (Universal Banker) at Sterling Bank is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and building strong relationships with clients in the new Little Rock location. This full-time role involves assisting customers with various banking services, including account management, loan applications, and educating them about the bank's products. The position emphasizes sales and customer engagement while adhering to banking regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service while assessing and meeting customer needs.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Educate customers about the bank's products and services.
  • Open and renew deposit and savings accounts, certificates of deposits, and retirement accounts.
  • Establish direct deposits and assist customers with queries regarding financial services.
  • Assist customers in completing consumer loan applications as needed.
  • Develop new business relationships and maintain existing ones.
  • Cross-sell bank products and services actively.
  • Maintain a positive, friendly, and professional attitude and appearance.
  • Develop knowledge of bank products and services and competitor offerings.
  • Provide a complete range of customer services at the financial institution.
  • Receive deposits and ensure proper processing of accounts according to regulations.
  • Engage customers to understand their loan needs and make appropriate referrals.
  • Assist customers with mobile and online banking features.
  • Implement client retention strategies and prospect for new business.
  • Assist supervisor in establishing objectives for deposit growth and retention.
  • Complete teller transactions and support the teller line.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of prior banking experience.
  • Prior cash handling and sales experience.
  • Excellent customer service and leadership skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of all bank deposit products and policies.
  • Excellent sales, interpersonal, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions regarding customer transactions.
  • Proficient typing/keyboarding skills.
  • Proficient use of computer, software, and office equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with mobile and online banking features.
  • Knowledge of federal regulations related to banking.
