About the position

The Universal Banker position at Ameris Bank is a part-time role focused on providing exceptional customer service and financial consultation. This position involves conducting customer financial profiles, identifying needs, and promoting banking products to enhance customer relationships and contribute to the financial growth of multiple banking centers. The role requires flexibility as it involves floating between branches and performing both teller and personal banker duties, all while adhering to the bank's core values and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct customer financial profiles to identify needs and opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling banking products.
• Establish, expand, and retain high-value consumer and business client relationships to drive financial growth.
• Communicate proactively with clients to educate them on products, resolve issues, and solicit feedback to improve services.
• Open new accounts and service existing accounts, ensuring compliance with Bank Secrecy Act requirements.
• Work on the teller line as needed, performing transactions and handling complex customer interactions.
• Provide backup support to other branches and assist in onboarding new clients.
• Mentor and train colleagues, promoting ethical sales behaviors in line with the bank's core values.

Requirements

• 2 or more years of customer service experience required.
• 1 or more years of cash handling or retail banking experience required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office products.

Nice-to-haves

• Cross selling experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
