About the position

The Universal Banker at Moody National Bank plays a dual role, combining the responsibilities of a Teller and a Relationship Banker. This position focuses on providing exceptional customer service, managing cash transactions, and promoting bank products to enhance customer relationships. The role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and is capable of traveling to different banking centers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers in a courteous and professional manner by processing various transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and money orders.
• Attract new customer relationships and retain existing ones by initiating referrals and cross-selling bank products and services.
• Assist and support other banking centers when needed, following bank policies and procedures.
• Advise and counsel customers on all branch financial services.
• Maintain and balance cash drawer daily, ensuring accuracy in transactions.
• Meet referral goals set by management and support the Senior Teller in maintaining balancing records.
• Open and process accounts, products, and services for customers after consulting on their specific needs.
• Solicit loan applications, obtain appropriate documentation, and follow up to close loans accurately.
• Handle daily incoming/outgoing collections items and assist in monthly cash audits as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of cash handling, retail banking, or related experience.
• Banking courses and/or related studies are preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and professional skills to represent the bank positively.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Effective questioning and listening techniques to identify customer needs.
• Excellent communication skills and PC experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in sales and customer service in a banking environment.
• Knowledge of different types of loans, services, and products.
