About the position

Universal Music Group (UMG) is the world's leading music company, committed to artistry, innovation, and entrepreneurship. We operate in recorded music, music publishing, merchandising, and audiovisual content across more than 60 countries. We are looking for interns who are currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the U.S. and are graduating between Spring 2025 and Fall 2027. Interns will have the opportunity to work in various departments including A&R, Marketing, Artist Development, and more, contributing to the development and promotion of artists and their music.

Responsibilities

  • Scout and identify potential new talent through various sources.
  • Provide administrative support in organizing and scheduling meetings, studio sessions, and artist showcases.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, emerging artists, and market data.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate artist releases and promotional activities.
  • Contribute to the creation of artist biographies, press releases, and other promotional materials.
  • Draft meeting agendas, take notes, and follow up on action items from meetings.
  • Assist in the organization and maintenance of artist files, contracts, and other important documents.
  • Create one-sheets for pitching materials.
  • Attend shows/concerts as needed.
  • Assist with Grammy submissions and lyric transcription.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States.
  • Graduating between Spring 2025 - Fall 2027.
  • Have access to housing and transportation within the designated city.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
  • Commit to 20 - 40 hours per week.

  • Audio editing skills.
  • Skilled in social media platforms and digital streaming platforms.
  • Good understanding of current music trends.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in video editing.
