About the position

The University of Louisville's Department of Radiology is seeking a full-time Academic Neuroradiologist at an open rank. This position is designed for a qualified candidate to join a core group of four fellowship-trained neuroradiologists, covering three teaching hospitals. The role involves clinical duties, training of diagnostic radiology residents, and opportunities for research and conference participation.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret structural studies including MRI, CT scans, myelograms, and plain films of the brain.
  • Interpret extracanial head/neck imaging, MRI of the brachial plexus, and MRI lumbar plexus.
  • Optional interpretation of in-utero MRI of the brain and spine, and post-partum MRI of infants.
  • Interpret MR and CT cerebral and neck angiograms.
  • Interpret functional imaging studies such as BOLD fMRI, DTI with tractography, CT/MR perfusion, and CSF flow studies.
  • Perform fluoroscopically guided lumbar punctures, myelograms, and chemotherapy injections.
  • Optional procedural expertise in facet blocks, epidural steroid injections, discograms, and nerve blocks.
  • Participate in CNS and ENT tumor boards, stroke and epilepsy conferences, and resident and fellow case conferences.
  • Optional participation in medical school lectures.
  • Engage in research activities, with a strong record of publications or scholarly activity being desirable.

Requirements

  • Medical Degree or equivalent.
  • Eligibility for Kentucky Medical License.
  • ABR Certified/eligible.
  • CAQ in Neuroradiology or eligible.
