About the position

JT4, LLC is seeking a skilled Computer Systems Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for various military test ranges. The role involves evaluating system specifications, installing and configuring enterprise computer systems, and ensuring hardware/software compatibility. The engineer will work collaboratively on projects, perform daily operational support, and manage network performance while maintaining a secure and efficient computing environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate system specifications and install enterprise computer systems.
• Configure systems and establish standards for hardware/software compatibility.
• Perform daily operational support on the computer Operating System, including system security and backups.
• Specify network requirements and monitor LAN performance.
• Organize and secure directory structures and assist staff in using Document Management Systems.
• Maintain and design functional web pages.
• Specify hardware requirements and track equipment configurations.
• Serve as the point of contact for problem reporting and monitor support contracts.
• Make recommendations for hardware/software implementations and process improvements.
• Provide operational status and analyze system logs for potential issues.
• Manage and administer storage solutions including NAS and SAN systems.
• Research and integrate new technologies into the existing data center.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• At least 12 years of experience in computer system-related areas.
• Broad knowledge of principles and practices in computer science and information systems.
• Specific experience in maintaining Operating Systems in centralized and distributed environments.
• Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to work under deadlines.
• Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with graphics and information systems.
• Familiarity with Document Management Systems.
