About the position
The Unlicensed Nursing Assistant plays a crucial role in providing patient care activities and support services under the supervision of licensed nurses. This position focuses on assisting with various patient care tasks while ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide designated patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Record patient graphics, intake and output, and activities of daily living (ADLs) accurately in the computer and flow sheet.
- Implement measures to promote a safe environment for patients and others.
- Institute appropriate nursing interventions to stabilize patients' conditions and prevent complications.
- Report relevant observations to the licensed nurse to assist in care planning.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing their psychosocial needs.
- Utilize patient care equipment safely and effectively, adapting usage to the patient's age and condition.
- Assist in cleaning and sanitizing equipment and supplies used in the unit.
Requirements
- 6 months to 1 year of related experience required.
- BLS Certification is required.
- Unit specific competencies must be obtained within six months of hire or transfer.
