About the position

The Tech Fundamentals program is a comprehensive and free training initiative designed to equip participants with essential skills for a career in technology. This program offers up to 20 weeks of instructor-led virtual training, providing a robust foundation in various IT disciplines. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in a paid internship or a project-based learning experience, allowing them to apply their newly acquired skills in real-world settings. The program also facilitates the earning of industry-recognized certifications, including CompTIA A+ and a Google IT Support Certificate, as well as an IT Generalist Apprenticeship credential, which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor. In addition to technical training, the Tech Fundamentals program emphasizes exposure to leading technologies from major companies such as Microsoft, Cisco, and AWS. Participants will benefit from mentoring by senior-level IT professionals, which will enhance their learning experience and provide valuable insights into the industry. The program also includes employment readiness workshops that prepare participants for the job market, along with job placement assistance that connects them with a wide range of top employers. Furthermore, the program offers access to financial assistance and resources to help with housing, childcare, and other essential needs, ensuring that participants can focus on their training and career development without undue stress.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in up to 20 weeks of instructor-led virtual training.

Requirements

  • Must be 18-26 years of age or over 21 if a military veteran or spouse.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.
  • For military veterans or spouses: must be transitioning active-duty servicemember through the DoD SkillBridge program, honorably discharged, or a member of the Guard or Reserves.
