About the position

The Upfit Technician position involves the installation and repair of truck equipment on cab chassis, specifically for railroad vehicles. The role requires a strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and hydraulics, along with hands-on experience in equipment installation. The technician will work primarily on the second shift, focusing on assembling and installing various components on specialty trucks.

Responsibilities

• Assemble & install commercial hydraulic and electrical components on specialty trucks.
• Assemble & install products such as snow plows, service bodies, lift gates, and components on specialty trucks.
• Utilize power tools such as drills, impact wrenches, air ratchets, and grinders.
• Utilize various hand tools to complete installations and repairs.
• Complete jobs within bid hours.

Requirements

• 2 years of mechanical knowledge and experience.
• Mid-level electrical experience with knowledge of 12-volt electrical systems.
• Experience with heavy equipment operation and crane operation.
• Ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Fabrication skills and experience with welding and plasma cutting.

Nice-to-haves

• ASE certification is preferred.
• Experience in truck equipment or related industries such as agricultural or industrial.
