About the position

Liddane Tutoring & Learning Services is seeking a highly-motivated math and science tutor to join our team of compassionate, holistic educators. This position is focused on providing in-person tutoring sessions to students of all grade levels, emphasizing both content knowledge and executive functioning skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in higher-level math, particularly calculus, as well as significant knowledge in chemistry and biology. The tutoring approach is relationship-based, prioritizing social and emotional learning, trust, and rapport building with students. Reliability is a critical requirement, as tutors are expected to maintain their assigned students throughout the school year. The content areas for tutoring include, but are not limited to, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, physics, chemistry, and biology. Tutors will work with a diverse population of students from both public and private backgrounds, addressing varying needs and subject areas. The mission of Liddane Tutoring & Learning Services is to engage and empower all types of learners through modeling, dialogue, and strategy, fostering an environment where students feel safe and supported, which in turn promotes self-reliance and achievement. Candidates must be prepared to work after school hours and/or on weekends during the school year, with expected tutoring hours ranging from 7 to 20 hours per week, along with additional paid administrative time. The role requires a high level of organization and planning skills, as many sessions will also focus on developing organizational and executive functioning skills alongside content support.
