About the position

Sylvan Learning is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Upper Level Math Tutors to assist high school students with their math homework and inspire them to learn. The role involves teaching subjects such as Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus, with opportunities to work with younger students using pre-planned lessons. Tutors will work in a supportive environment, focusing on motivating students and helping them succeed academically.

Responsibilities

• Assist high school students with their math homework and test preparation.
• Teach subjects including Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus.
• Utilize pre-planned lessons to facilitate learning for late-elementary and middle school students.
• Motivate and connect with students to inspire a love for learning.
• Work in small group settings with no more than 4 students per teacher.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred in math or a related field, or currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a math or science program.
• Ability to pass a math test covering Algebra through Pre-Calculus.
• Enjoy teaching and inspiring students.
• Punctuality and reliability in attendance are crucial.
• Local candidates with reliable transportation are required.
