About the position

The UPS/FedEx Shipping Specialist is responsible for efficiently managing the shipping of customer orders, particularly those exceeding 250 lbs, using various shipping methods including UPS and FedEx. This role requires a strong understanding of barcoding systems, inventory management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The position involves pulling, packing, and processing orders, as well as assisting in other shipping and production tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Pulls, packs and processes orders from inventory.
  • Processes orders via customers' routing guides.
  • Performs detailed distribution-related activities as assigned.
  • Fills small to midsize customer orders of 250 lbs. or less, as well as freight orders as needed.
  • Ships orders out via UPS, FedEx, or freight.
  • Loads and unloads carriers and containers.
  • Puts away material (finished goods or raw materials).
  • Restocks primary bins.
  • Cross-trains into other areas of production as needed.

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and other web-based programs with a minimum of 1 year proven technical ability.
  • Ability to pull, pack and process larger freight orders daily, or as needed.
  • Forklift experience and ability to safely drive and operate a forklift.
  • Must read, write and communicate in English.
  • Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and freight systems and processes.
  • Ability to utilize scales, meters, and measuring labeling and packing equipment.
  • Ability to perform lifting or physical activity as required.
  • Familiarity with warehouse finished stock inventory procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in warehouse operations for at least 1 year.
  • Forklift certification or training.
