About the position

The Upstream Product Manager will oversee the product development lifecycle within the dental division, focusing on managing processes before commercialization. This role requires collaboration with various teams to drive product strategy and ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the upstream product lifecycle, from concept ideation to product approval, aligning with business objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with Regulatory Affairs to maintain product compliance with FDA, CE, and other global regulatory agencies throughout development.
  • Collaborate with R&D to transform customer needs into product innovations.
  • Guide cross-functional teams in product development, incorporating feedback to meet technical and compliance standards.
  • Shape and maintain the product roadmap, identifying market needs and ensuring strategic alignment.
  • Collect and analyze customer feedback and market trends with Sales and Marketing to refine product specifications and positioning.
  • Identify and mitigate potential product risks in collaboration with regulatory and development teams.
  • Ensure technical and regulatory documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Work with downstream teams to integrate the voice of the customer (VOC), monitor competitive activity, and ensure seamless transition into commercialization.
  • Serve as the product expert to downstream and commercial teams and with customers.
  • Support trade shows, conferences, and other events as needed.
  • Serve as product subject matter expert; lead training efforts on products as needed.
  • Perform additional duties/projects as requested by Management.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on product/project management experience, preferably in medical device or dental industries.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team player capable of working across departments to achieve shared goals.
  • Proven experience working in cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, R&D, Regulatory, and Operations.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines and priorities, ensuring adherence to project schedules.
  • Organized, with a strong attention to detail and follow up.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical acumen with a deep understanding of product development processes.
  • Proactive and disciplined self-starter with an innate curiosity for learning and trying new things.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of FDA, cGMP, OSHA, EPA, MDR standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance strategies.
  • PMP Certification a plus.
