About the position

The Urban Agricultural County Program Analyst position is based in the Boulder FSA County Office in Longmont, Colorado. This role focuses on the cultivation, processing, and distribution of agricultural products in urban and suburban environments, including innovative practices such as vertical farming, community gardens, and hydroponic systems. The analyst will serve as an expert resource for urban agriculture programs, providing guidance and support to producers and agency personnel.

Responsibilities

• Carry out activities related to Urban and Suburban Agriculture program areas.
• Interpret and explain procedures, program regulations, and forms to producers and agency personnel.
• Utilize web-based software applications to maintain producer data and process automated forms.
• Plan and execute assigned tasks with a high degree of initiative and judgment.
• Serve as a central resource for expert guidance and coordination at the county office level.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
• High school graduate or GED required.
• At least one year of general work experience in agricultural operations or related fields, or a combination of education and experience.
• For CO-07 level: One full year of graduate education or specialized experience equivalent to CO-5 or GS-5 level required.
• For CO-09 level: A Master's degree or specialized experience equivalent to CO-7 or GS-7 level required.
