About the position
The Urgent Care RN at Falmouth Urgi is responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients of all ages in a fast-paced urgent care environment. The role involves triaging, assessing, and treating patients, as well as assisting physicians with various procedures and ensuring patient safety and confidentiality throughout their visit.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care and support for urgent care center patients.
- Assist in triage, assessment, and point of care testing.
- Document patient medication and allergies in the EMR.
- Assist providers in urgent care procedures such as EKGs, dressing changes, and IV insertions.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assess for adverse reactions during infusions.
- Answer patient questions and triage appropriately over the phone.
- Maintain and stock all rooms and supplies as needed.
- Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Participate in staff meetings and promote nursing and patient care development.
- Assist with clerical duties including patient registration and answering phones.
Requirements
- Current RN license to practice nursing in Massachusetts.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- IV insertion/therapy skills required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Acute care experience required, with preference for Emergency Department experience.
