About the position

This is an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to join an Urgent Care practice located in Winchester, VA. The position is focused on providing high-quality care to both children and adults in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of minor illnesses and injuries, performing physical examinations, and developing treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. The role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care. The practice operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, allowing for a work-life balance with no nights or weekends required. The compensation is competitive, ranging from $60 to $65 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Treat minor illnesses.
• Perform suturing and splinting as needed.
• Conduct minor procedures such as removing nails, screws, or metal from hands.
• Obtain and record detailed medical histories of patients, including chief complaints and individual and family histories.
• Perform complete physical examinations of patients, covering all body systems.
• Analyze reports and findings from tests and personal examinations to assess medical conditions and formulate prognoses.
• Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff to manage patient care.
• Refer patients to other physicians or appropriate resources when necessary.
• Prescribe medications and treatments, and recommend physical and dietary routines for disease prevention and hygiene maintenance.
• Perform or supervise various invasive medical procedures, including injections, inoculations, and vaccinations.

Requirements

• Valid license as a family Nurse Practitioner to practice in Virginia.
• Adept at diagnosing problems and creating treatment plans for patients.
• Highly computer literate and familiar with charting.
• Excellent communication skills, especially in conveying sensitive or adverse information.
• Sound judgment and expert decision-making abilities.
• Strong analytical thinking and complex problem-solving skills.
