About the position

The Urgent Care Veterinary Technician at UrgentVet is responsible for providing outstanding patient care, team leadership, and client service in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art urgent care clinic. This role bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency care, focusing on common urgent cases for canine and feline patients. The technician will work in a paperless clinic equipped with advanced technology, ensuring efficient care delivery while making a positive impact in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist in the management of common urgent cases including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia.
  • Perform clinical skills such as phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
  • Handle animal restraint and sample collection effectively.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and assist in client education.
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting.
  • Strong clinical skills including phlebotomy and patient monitoring.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with animal care.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and dependability in a team environment.
  • Prior customer service experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in phlebotomy.
  • Energetic personality with excellent work ethic and social skills.
  • Willingness to travel for on-site training and onboarding.
