About the position

The Cisco Network Administrator role is a contract position focused on maintaining and troubleshooting networking infrastructures, particularly in a critical control room environment. The position requires strong technical skills in Cisco switching and routing, with an emphasis on on-premises systems. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and resilience of network systems, particularly in urgent situations affecting gas and electricity systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain computer infrastructures with an emphasis on networking and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with critical systems and routers.
• Configure and manage LAN setups and VLAN configurations.
• Work with routing protocols and Cisco switching equipment.
• Collaborate with the manager to receive training on firewall management.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of computer networking and routing protocols.
• Proficiency in firewall configuration and management.
• Experience with LAN setup and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Juniper networking equipment.
• Ability to work with various operating systems and IT infrastructure.
• Certifications in Cisco ISE or similar network security technologies.

• Experience with Fortinet firewalls.
