About the position

The Specialist, Operations/Manufacturing Planning and Management position at Indotronix International Corporation in Wilmington, MA, is a critical role within the Client Imaging Division, which is renowned for its expertise in designing and producing space-based optical telescopes for small satellites. This division has a rich history of supporting both commercial and military markets, including significant contributions to NASA programs such as New Horizons. The successful candidate will be instrumental in bridging operational gaps and solving problems to meet customer commitments effectively. In this fast-paced and dynamic environment, the Specialist will be responsible for coordinating with various internal departments to create and maintain an accurate manufacturing execution plan. This involves managing internal suppliers and understanding the requirements and limitations associated with the manufacturing phase of development programs. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure that the manufacturing team receives the necessary resources on time, thereby facilitating smooth operations and timely delivery of products. The position demands a strong focus on developing and maintaining manufacturing execution schedules throughout the planning and execution phases. The Specialist will prioritize daily activities related to manufacturing and material flow processes, measure success against the plan, and communicate status updates to both program and management teams. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with Operations functions, including Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality, to devise unique solutions to manufacturing challenges. The Specialist will also utilize ERP data to identify potential scheduling issues and ensure data integrity, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing execution schedules throughout the planning and execution phases of the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate with internal suppliers such as Material Management and Design Engineering to ensure material and labor availability to meet customer commitments.
  • Prioritize day-to-day activities of the manufacturing and material flow processes, measure success and failure to the plan, and communicate status to program and management.
  • Develop unique solutions to manufacturing problems by collaborating with Operations functions including Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and technical personnel.
  • Manage internal value add/work in process parts and coordinate with internal suppliers to ensure build documentation meets program and quality requirements.
  • Support timely analysis and implementation of Engineering Change Orders.
  • Utilize ERP data to identify potential schedule and/or data integrity problems along with metric-based performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • APICS, Lean, and Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment that includes new product introductions.
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory, planning, supply chain, and configuration management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ERP implementations and/or Cincom Control and Agile/PDM systems.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment as an ops manager, production planner, or manufacturing engineer.
  • Possess strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and communicate cross-functionally.
