About the position

The Urology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) position at Munson Healthcare is a full-time role focused on delivering high-quality care to urology patients during weekend shifts (Saturday to Monday). The provider will collaborate with urology physicians to enhance patient care, improve office efficiency, and manage both outpatient and inpatient care. This role is part of a not-for-profit healthcare system that emphasizes work-life balance and community health.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of the clinical team to provide management of urologic medical care to patients.
  • Evaluate and review the plan of care at regularly scheduled office visits based on patient needs.
  • Manage patient care in the outpatient setting, including performing comprehensive history and physical examinations.
  • Order and interpret appropriate lab and radiographic studies, and perform in-office procedures.
  • Assist with inpatient consultations and documentation of inpatient history & physicals.
  • Complete documentation of all evaluations and services rendered in the electronic medical record.
  • Communicate with referring or primary care physicians regarding patient care.
  • Respond to telephone inquiries from clinic patients and provide appropriate medical care or counseling.
  • Assist individuals in taking responsibility for health maintenance and restoration.
  • Maintain knowledge of current medical trends and participate in professional development.
  • Meet department productivity requirements and manage daily appointment schedules.
  • Respond to medical emergencies as required.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or a Master's in Physician Assistant studies.
  • State of Michigan Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant license required.
  • Urology experience is preferred but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in urology is preferred but not mandatory.
