About the position
The Urology Technician (UT) at York Hospital plays a vital role in supporting the care team by providing clinical and technical assistance in the delivery of urological care. This position involves a variety of responsibilities, including patient intake, managing procedural patients, and preparing for urology procedures, all aimed at enhancing patient care experiences.
Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient intake including rooming patients.
- Follow up on test results and schedule further appointments or consultations.
- Assist with patient registry management.
- Manage 25 - 30 procedural patients daily with the assistance of a peer.
- Prepare procedure rooms with necessary supplies and equipment for each unique procedure.
- Contact vendors regarding equipment issues and communicate with staff and care teams.
- Prepare Urology suites and assist with Urology procedures.
- Order procedural and other supplies for the Urology practice.
- Clean urological instruments using proper precautions, sterile technique, and appropriate cleaning agents.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or higher education preferred; high school diploma or GED accepted.
- Two or more years of related experience and/or training in the practice setting preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
