The Urschel Tech position is a critical role within our processing team, responsible for the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of Urschel Heads. This position involves testing and receiving oil and potatoes, as well as working at the Peeler Operator station. The Urschel Tech will maintain inventory usage and ensure the proper disposal of cutter blades, securing blades at all times to keep the Urschel Heads running efficiently. The role requires operating and maintaining processing equipment to produce products that meet the guidelines established by Quality Assurance, ensuring the highest possible standard of quality is achieved. In addition to equipment operation, the Urschel Tech is responsible for maintaining proper raw material levels, unloading raw materials trailers, and processing and filtering oil as needed. The position also involves operating and shutting down equipment in the processing area according to established procedures. The Urschel Tech may receive training for changeovers and preventative maintenance, and is expected to keep supervisors updated on raw material needs. Safety and hygiene are paramount, and the Urschel Tech must adhere to appropriate guidelines for safe housekeeping and personal protection, ensuring the work area is clean and organized. The role also includes monitoring and logging raw material weights, making necessary adjustments, and communicating any quality issues to the appropriate team members. The Urschel Tech will follow sanitation procedures for clean-ups and changeovers, including chemical handling, and will track and dispose of waste accordingly. The position may require the use of material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and mandatory overtime may be required. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
