About the position

The US Broking Senior Cyber Security Consultant role is designed for professionals who will evaluate and analyze cyber risks to enhance risk management and transfer solutions. This hybrid-remote position involves collaborating with clients to assess their security programs, recommend strategies to mitigate risks, and improve their cybersecurity posture. The consultant will also mentor team members and contribute to client engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support broking clients through evaluation of security programs and facilitating Aon proprietary assessments.
  • Conduct reviews of potential cybersecurity vulnerabilities and recommend actions for effective risk management.
  • Collaborate with advisory resources to reduce security risks across various cybersecurity programs.
  • Evaluate and consult with clients on strategies to defend against cyber threats such as ransomware and insider threats.
  • Assist with client engagement initiatives, including pre-sales scoping and proposal development.
  • Discuss IT network and security architectures related to identity and access management.
  • Formulate executive-level recommendations related to Information Security strategy.
  • Mentor less experienced team members and improve team competence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of varied IT security experience including risk management and security program governance.
  • Recent consulting experience with a mid to large size consulting firm is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Identity & Access Management, Enterprise or Cloud environment security, Vulnerability Management, or Cyber-Incident Response.
  • Understanding of cyber security insurance coverage and its implications.
  • Proven success in team collaboration and independent work with follow-through on issues.
  • Excellent IT project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-service area environment and across all organizational levels.
  • Strong communication skills with senior executive-level leaders.

Nice-to-haves

  • Security certifications (CISSP, GIAC, and/or CRISC) are a plus.
  • Experience in medium to complex network environments and familiarity with cloud security concepts.
