About the position

The Director of Credit Analysis for the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals sector at Fitch will lead coverage and analysis of credit quality for companies in this industry. This role requires a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. The position involves mentoring junior team members and may include managerial responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality of companies in the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals sectors
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models
  • Conduct meetings with industry management teams
  • Present analysis of companies to internal credit rating committees
  • Communicate rating rationale to external audiences in meetings, conference calls, press releases, and written research reports
  • Write timely and effective research on topical issues
  • Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates and related credit groups
  • Represent Fitch in panel discussions and conferences arranged by industry associations and regulatory bodies
  • Mentor junior members of the team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree at minimum, MBA or other advanced degree a plus
  • CFA/CPA or CFA candidate preferred
  • 5-10 years relevant experience, with some coverage or knowledge of the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals sector
  • Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus
  • Expertise in Excel and Word
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change
  • Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment

Nice-to-haves

  • Some knowledge of and a keen interest in learning more about the Healthcare industries
  • Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis and well-developed financial statement analysis skills
  • Desire to deepen their exposure to and understanding of the debt capital markets
  • A strong pattern of leadership and the ability to proactively and successfully interact with various stakeholders
