About the position

The Director for the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals sector at Fitch Ratings will lead coverage analysis, focusing on credit quality and financial modeling. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative mindset, as it involves engaging with industry management and presenting findings to internal committees and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis of key quantitative and qualitative factors influencing credit quality of companies in the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals sectors
• Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models
• Conduct meetings with industry management teams
• Present analysis of companies to internal credit rating committees
• Communicate rating rationale to external audiences in meetings, conference calls, press releases, and written research reports
• Write timely and effective research on topical issues
• Participate in the evaluation of other credits within Corporates and related credit groups
• Represent Fitch in panel discussions and conferences arranged by industry associations and regulatory bodies
• Mentor junior members of the team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree at minimum; MBA or other advanced degree a plus
• CFA/CPA or CFA candidate preferred
• 5-10 years relevant experience, with some coverage or knowledge of the Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals sector
• Capital markets and/or credit analysis experience a plus
• Expertise in Excel and Word
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to shift fluidly between multiple projects as priorities change
• Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment

• Some knowledge of and a keen interest in learning more about the Healthcare industries
• Professional background in capital markets and/or credit analysis and well-developed financial statement analysis skills
• Desire to deepen exposure to and understanding of the debt capital markets
