About the position

Quality Care Rehabilitation Professionals is offering a unique opportunity through its Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist Apprenticeship Program. This program allows individuals to work full-time as Medical Billers while receiving classroom instruction at Macomb Community College. Participants will gain hands-on experience in a medical office setting, complete required coursework at no cost, and earn a Medical Reimbursement Specialist certification upon completion. The role involves managing accounts receivable, processing insurance claims, and assisting with patient interactions, all within a supportive and flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the company's accounts receivable balances by identifying collection issues and contacting patients.
• Post electronic charges, patient statements, payments, notes, and other related information to insurance plans.
• Work and communicate with peers, patients, and payers regarding accounts receivable.
• Verify CPT, ICD-10 and/or modifiers to accurately reflect documented services.
• Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements.
• Submit insurance claims to payers and process rejected claims by sending an appeal and/or reconsideration letter.
• Verify patients' eligibility, coverage, benefits, and identify managed care authorization requirements.
• Assist reception in answering phones, checking in patients, and handling day-to-day issues as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a current and valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be eligible to work in the US.
• Ability to pass criminal background checks.

Nice-to-haves
