About the position

PointClickCare is seeking an Instructional Designer/Developer who will play a crucial role in the end-to-end analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training and certification programs for customers, partners, and staff. This position reports to the Manager of Instructional Design/Development and will work closely with more senior Instructional Designers. The successful candidate will utilize foundational knowledge and experience in instructional design, along with basic skills in authoring and visual design tools, to create, maintain, and deploy educational solutions that facilitate the successful adoption of PointClickCare's products. The Instructional Designer/Developer will collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, Product, and Customer Care teams to understand business goals, prioritize tasks, negotiate content, and ensure the accuracy and quality of the training materials. This role requires the ability to determine appropriate learning strategies that align with business outcomes and to follow adult learning best practices in designing and developing customer education materials. These materials may include eLearning courses, facilitator guides, performance support documentation, surveys, knowledge checks, and mastery level tests. In addition to creating educational content, the Instructional Designer/Developer will support the development of materials for internal and partner certification programs. The role demands creativity and unique solutions to enhance education, engage learners, and effectively transfer knowledge. The candidate will manage projects throughout their lifecycle, from analysis to implementation, ensuring that deliverables are completed within the planned scope, quality, and timelines. Effective communication and collaboration within a virtual team are essential, as is the ability to script course dialogue in a conversational tone to make topics relatable. The position also involves designing storyboards, scripts, and other materials to create engaging learning solutions, monitoring key learning metrics for quality and customer satisfaction, and staying current with industry trends and product enhancements to develop relevant training.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Project Management, Product, and Customer Care teams to understand business goals and prioritize tasks.
  • Determine appropriate learning strategies that meet business outcomes.
  • Follow adult learning best practices to design, develop, and maintain customer education materials including eLearning courses and facilitator guides.
  • Support the creation of materials used in internal and partner certification programs.
  • Provide creative solutions that enhance education and engage learners.
  • Manage projects through the entire life cycle from analysis to implementation, ensuring deliverables are completed within planned scope and timelines.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate on a virtual team.
  • Script course dialogue in conversational tones to convey topics and new concepts.
  • Design storyboards, scripts, and other materials to develop engaging learning solutions.
  • Monitor key learning metrics on quality, customer satisfaction, and impact for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Foundational ability to use Articulate Storyline 360.
  • Foundational understanding of instructional design principles and delivering online education.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbally and in written formats.
  • Self-motivated with fundamental organization skills to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Basic time management skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently to deliver on departmental goals.
  • Basic knowledge of Learning Management Systems and standards such as SCORM.

Nice-to-haves

  • University degree in instructional design or equivalent experience.
  • Basic experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Vyond, Camtasia, and Articulate Rise.
  • Working knowledge of software release cycles and ability to maintain deliverables that align with each release.
  • Experience with SharePoint, SnagIt, Smartsheet, Netsuite, JIRA.
  • Entry level visual design skills.
  • Well-founded knowledge of Long-Term Post-Acute Care (LTPAC) industry.
  • Working knowledge of PointClickCare software or similar healthcare software experience.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $83,000 - $90,000 + bonus + benefits.
