About the position

The US PDCA Fund Controller position at Schroders involves overseeing middle office operations within a global asset management firm. The role focuses on ensuring quality control, compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting investment activities and maintaining strong stakeholder communication. Responsibilities

  • Ensure oversight and control mechanisms for quality and accuracy in middle office tasks.
  • Oversee services provided by internal and external service provider teams, including support in due diligence and review of service level agreements.
  • Support the acquisition of new private transactions by assisting the investment and operations team in the execution process and eligibility checks.
  • Monitor performance data to ensure accuracy and timeliness for the investment team.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audit requirements.
  • Support the setup of new products or system changes to ensure functionality and business requirement compliance.
  • Provide oversight of invoice authorization and cash management operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities in internal systems and ensure data governance across platforms.
  • Generate and distribute regular and ad-hoc reports on data accuracy and control environment effectiveness.
  • Support risk management activities by providing updates on potential issues and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to implement and monitor adherence to guidelines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Develop and maintain best practices for middle office operations in the context of PDCA.
  • Provide training and support across PDCA on operational processes and systems.
  • Act as a central point of contact for middle office-related inquiries from stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Business school degree or university degree and/or Qualified Accountant.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Middle Office, Audit, or an Accounting firm, preferably within private markets.
  • Strong understanding of public and private markets products and overall operations.
  • Proficiency in middle/back-office systems and financial software, with prior experience in systems like Aladdin or eFront being advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data management tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while keeping superiors informed.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $130,000 to $155,000 based on experience and qualifications.
