About the position

Sigmatech is seeking a Combatant Command (CCMD) Space Liaison to provide Advisory and Assistance Services to support Headquarters United States Space Force, Chief Operations Office (USSF/COO). The COO operates under the direction and control of the Chief of Space Operations (CSO) and is responsible for directing the United States Space Force National Capital Region staff. The SF/COO requires contractor technical, operational, and support advisory and assistance services to fulfill its missions effectively. This position involves conducting comprehensive research, analysis, and assessment on Space capabilities and emerging Space technologies, as well as briefing and submitting assessments to Senior USSF leadership as required. The role also includes supporting crisis action planning and continuity of operations, building and displaying data sets, performing data mining, and assisting with the operation of a Space Common Operating Picture platform. The successful candidate will provide operational-level expertise in Space Force operations, including orbital warfare, cybersecurity, readiness, strategic planning, and Space Command & Control. Additionally, the liaison will assess all USSF elements, from missions and systems to personnel and processes, and submit comprehensive assessment reports to guide and inform weight of effort and focus areas. The position requires interfacing and performing technical and programmatic liaison support with Combatant Commands (CCMDs), the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), SAF/SQ, SF/IA, and USSF field commands. Responsibilities also include coordinating actions within the applicable division, building products for senior leaders, supporting the deliberate planning process, and assisting in developing policy, guidance, and orders to USSF Field Commands. The liaison will identify and analyze concepts and technologies for investment, provide support to space functions, and track/enabling space support to AOR operations. Moreover, the role involves advising and briefing senior leadership on space programs, producing and processing Space Support Requests, and attending and producing products in support of the weekly Combined Forces Space Component Command Operations and Intelligence Brief. The liaison will also coordinate cross-CCMD space effects/integration in support of Combatant Command operations and participate in the Combatant Command Long Range Planning process. The position requires a strong commitment to collaboration, communication, and the ability to manage complex tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research, analysis, and assessment on Space capabilities and emerging Space technologies.
  • Brief/submit assessments to Senior USSF leadership as required.
  • Support crisis action planning and continuity of operations.
  • Build and display data sets, perform data mining, and assist with the operation of a Space Common Operating Picture platform.
  • Provide operational-level expertise in Space Force operations including orbital warfare, cybersecurity, readiness, strategic planning, and Space Command & Control.
  • Assess all USSF elements, from missions and systems to personnel and processes and submit comprehensive assessment reports.
  • Interface and perform technical and programmatic liaison support with Combatant Commands (CCMDs), OSD, SAF/SQ, SF/IA, and USSF field commands.
  • Coordinate action within the applicable division, other divisions, HQ Space Staff, and all other relevant stakeholders.
  • Build products for senior leaders; detailed mission analysis; personnel and facilities planning; contingency planning; guidance updates, security cooperation and partner engagement planning, program, and budget preparation.
  • Support deliberate planning process, development of operational strategy and doctrine.
  • Assist in developing policy, guidance, and orders to USSF Field Commands.
  • Identify and analyze concepts and technologies for investment.
  • Provide support to space functions supporting CCDR and components.
  • Track/enabling space support to AOR operations.
  • Assessment support to space document reviews of new architectures, capabilities, and shortfalls.
  • Advise and brief senior leadership on space programs, current issues, and shortfalls.
  • Provide space integration expertise in support of CONOPS and/or plan development.
  • Produce and process Space Support Requests to integrate space forces/capabilities for Combatant Commands.
  • Attend and produce products in support of the weekly Combined Forces Space Component Command Operations and Intelligence Brief.
  • Coordinate cross-CCMD space effects/integration iso Combatant Command operations.
  • Attend and participate in the Combatant Command Long Range Planning process.
  • Produce and process request for information on space forces/capabilities to support planning and operations.
  • Provide space expertise to the AOC iso the NC3 treats cell, target development, and the Analysis Correlation and Fusion cell.
  • Process and/or produce SATRAN and GPS support products as required.
  • Incorporate space effects into theater exercises and war-games.
  • Directly support prioritized national, JFC, theater component, and NATO exercise events.
  • Provide comprehensive support to exercise development and planning including planning conference attendance, exercise deployment coordination, collaboration with DMOC-S and WPC teams for M&S, and source exercise personnel requirements.
  • During execution, provide white cell augmentation and develop lessons learned.
  • Coordinate processes between staffs and ensure accurate and focused information is delivered in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate actions and processes to satisfy essential information needs.
  • Work closely with higher HQ to ensure required reports are up channeled and consistent with the CDR battle rhythm.
  • Work closely with command administrative staffs and C2 elements of all subordinate units to define reporting requirements.
  • Review and evaluate multi-source, complex technical intelligence that varies in clarity and validity.
  • Enhance exercise realism through theater threat presentation (e.g., orders of battle, threat country tactics, etc.).
  • Assist in the collection, consolidation, and integration of deployed unit training objectives into exercise scenario inputs for participants within ISR mission areas.
  • Shape, fuse, and influence the content, form, and format of tailored, timely, accurate and relevant assessments.
  • Manage component administrative responsibilities including continuity and process management; tracking TMT and action item flow; calendar management.
  • Oversight of commander's programs, track readiness requirements, manage internal and external tasking process, organize, and facilitate meetings.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree plus a minimum of 10 years of experience in an Operations, Engineering, Scientific, Data Science, Software Programming, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Analysis, Policy or Planning field, or equivalent experience/responsibility.
  • TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Familiarity with the US Space Force and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations.
  • Outstanding critical thinking and analytical ability.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and briefing skills.
  • Strong communicator/writer for senior COCOM leaders.
