About the position
The US Supervisor, Tax at Gordon Food Service is responsible for overseeing tax planning processes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and collaborating with external advisors. This role involves managing tax-related projects, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and improving departmental processes. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in tax within an international accounting firm or a large corporate tax department.
Responsibilities
- Serve as project advocate in the tax planning process to promote and implement tax-planning ideas.
- Administer the entities and structures resulting from various tax and financial projects.
- Participate in preparation and review of periodic sales/use tax returns and property tax filings.
- Maintain and complete all items on the due date tracker listing.
- Respond to, investigate, and follow up on customer inquiries, internal tax inquiries, and governmental audits.
- Assist in identifying technical and process-related improvements for the department.
- Collaborate with outside advisors including CPAs and attorneys.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 4 years progressive experience in the tax department of an international accounting firm or in a large corporate tax department.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
