This position performs ultrasound procedures to be used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role is essential in ensuring that patients receive the best possible care through accurate imaging and compassionate service. The ultrasound technologist will be responsible for preparing patients for exams, explaining procedures, positioning patients correctly, selecting appropriate imaging techniques, and ensuring the technical quality of the images produced. The ultrasound technologist will also be responsible for entering and monitoring patient data, performing quality assurance on ultrasound equipment, and assisting with the initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditations. The role includes identifying and reporting any accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions to department management. Additionally, the technologist will take emergency calls within the department and ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors by adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications, including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service.
