About the position

The Area Manager of Asset Protection at Sam's Club is responsible for overseeing and implementing asset protection strategies across distribution centers and fulfillment centers. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, enhancing operational excellence, and fostering a culture of safety and security. The manager will lead initiatives to mitigate risks, improve processes, and support the overall mission of the organization while ensuring the safety and well-being of associates and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement technology changes across multiple processes within the assigned area of work.
  • Support regulatory visits and prepare audit reports for management review.
  • Participate in evaluating pollution control and management at assigned facilities.
  • Assist in integrating environmental considerations into process design.
  • Recognize and investigate security breaches, thefts, and vandalism, reporting findings to facility management.
  • Participate in OSHA and other regulatory inspections, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Manage systematic approaches to solicit feedback from training participants and support training initiatives.
  • Produce and interpret common risk assessment and management reports.
  • Define critical workflows for executing key processes and implement methods for improvement.
  • Build trusting relationships with stakeholders and communicate effectively about business plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety Management, Criminal Justice, Security, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or Asset Protection, Security within Supply Chain or Retail.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 or more degreed certifications (Associate Safety Professional; Loss Prevention Certifications (LPC), Certified Security Professional (CSP)).
  • 2 or more years of investigative experience or asset protection experience in retail or warehouse.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
