About the position

The Area Manager of Asset Protection at Walmart is responsible for overseeing safety, security, and environmental compliance across distribution centers and fulfillment centers. This role involves implementing policies and procedures to protect company assets, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and fostering a culture of safety and operational excellence. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance operational efficiency and mitigate risks associated with asset protection.

Responsibilities

  • Articulates the levers that influence data and ensures data quality for analysis.
  • Operates tools for evaluating air, water, and waste pollution and supports regulatory visits.
  • Explains operational functions and clarifies departmental roles in relation to enterprise strategy.
  • Owns project activities and supports process updates and changes.
  • Participates in OSHA and other regulatory inspections and maintains health and safety records.
  • Works with tools for theft prevention and investigates security breaches.
  • Supports training initiatives and manages feedback from training participants.
  • Produces and interprets risk assessment reports and conducts risk assessments.
  • Defines critical workflows and implements methods for process improvement.
  • Communicates effectively with stakeholders and builds professional networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety Management, Criminal Justice, Security, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in Environmental, Health and Safety or Asset Protection within Supply Chain or Retail.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 or more degreed certifications (Associate Safety Professional; Loss Prevention Certifications (LPC), Certified Security Professional (CSP)).
  • 2 or more years of investigative experience or asset protection experience in retail or warehouse.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
