About the position
As a Cake Decorator at Sam's Club, you will play a crucial role in enhancing member service by delivering high-quality bakery products that meet the expectations of our members. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with other associates to ensure that the bakery area operates smoothly and efficiently. This includes maintaining in-stock levels, controlling shrinkage, and ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be expected to plan bakery productions, ensuring consistency in quality and accuracy of decorative designs, while adhering to food safety standards and sanitation guidelines. In this role, you will also leverage digital tools to drive sales and improve the shopping experience for our members. This involves utilizing handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production and merchandise ordering, all while keeping the member's needs in mind. You will be responsible for driving the performance of the bakery area, ensuring quality and date control standards, and preparing for seasonal events that impact bakery volume. As a Cake Decorator, you will act as a talent ambassador, advocating for the member's experience in the bakery and modeling high-quality service and products. You will interact with associates to understand any roadblocks they may face and assist in their training, fostering a respectful and supportive team environment. Compliance with company policies and standards of ethics is essential, and you will be expected to complete work assignments by collaborating with managers and co-workers, identifying priorities, and adapting to changes and feedback. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance member service and educate associates on tools and resources.
- Plan bakery productions to ensure consistency in quality and accuracy of decorative designs.
- Follow recipe measurement instructions and work with various decorating tools to create designs on bakery items.
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management.
- Operate, maintain, and sanitize bakery equipment effectively.
- Drive the performance of the bakery area, ensuring quality and date control standards are met.
- Prepare for seasonal events that impact bakery volume, such as holidays and graduations.
- Assist members with purchasing decisions and resolve any issues or concerns they may have.
- Model high-quality service and products as a brand advocate for the bakery.
- Complete work assignments by collaborating with managers, co-workers, and customers, and adapting to changes and feedback.
Requirements
- 6 months' experience in a fresh production area.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
