About the position

The Database Analyst III position is a contract-to-hire role focused on designing, implementing, and optimizing database solutions for products. The role involves collaboration with engineering teams to deliver efficient and robust database solutions, with the potential for remote work.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement database solutions to align with business requirements, including data modeling and schema design.
• Collaboratively work with software developers to design and implement efficient and scalable database schemas.
• Optimize database performance through detailed analysis of query execution plans, indexing strategies, and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to secure data availability and integrity.
• Proactively monitor the health and performance of databases, identifying and addressing issues as they arise.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and performance problems.
• Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations through the implementation of access controls, encryption, and auditing.
• Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices for future reference.
• Stay informed about emerging database technologies and industry trends to make knowledgeable recommendations for improvements.

Requirements

• Expert level skills in database architecture and design.
• Demonstrable experience in database design and development.
• Proficient in SQL and MySQL for query optimization.
• Understanding of best practices in database management and configuration.
• Knowledge of backup technologies and recovery procedures.
• Experience with database auditing to ensure compliance with standards.
