About the position

The Developmental Technician for Refrigeration/HVAC Maintenance at Walmart is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and repair of HVAC/R systems. This role involves completing necessary paperwork, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The technician will work under supervision to support HVAC/R operations and contribute to cost control efforts while fostering a culture of safety and integrity within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Complete required paperwork including expense vouchers, weekly summaries, and refrigerant logs.
• Assist the Technician III in gathering capital expenditures lists and developing scopes of work for HVAC/R systems.
• Perform HVAC/R work assignments under supervision, collaborating with management and coworkers.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations during work activities.
• Conduct price comparisons for refrigerants and parts to assist in controlling company costs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R equipment and emergency management systems.
• Inspect equipment and troubleshoot HVAC/R problems, scheduling major repairs as needed.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to others in the application of HVAC/R best practices.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders to identify business needs and implement solutions.

Requirements

• Type I and Type II Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling.
• HVAC/R Certificate of Completion through Live Better U and Penn Foster Career School.
