About the position

As a Frontend Coach at Walmart, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Your responsibilities will include touring stores and providing constructive feedback through a method known as Tour-to-Teach. You will be expected to communicate and collaborate with associates at all levels regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and the overall direction of the company. A significant part of your role will involve introducing and leading company change efforts, providing clear expectations, and guiding teams in implementing effective business solutions. You will also be responsible for effectively communicating business objectives to your teams, ensuring alignment with the company's goals. In addition to team leadership, you will model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by adhering to the One Best Way (OBW) service model. This includes managing and supporting customer service initiatives, such as community outreach programs, and ensuring that customer needs, complaints, and issues are resolved satisfactorily. You will develop and implement action plans to address deficiencies and provide leadership in process improvement to ensure a high-quality customer experience. Financial performance and sales management will also be a key focus of your role. You will review and evaluate Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, assist in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses to ensure they are aligned with sales. Monitoring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes will be essential, as will developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. You will provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring them. This includes assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, and ensuring diversity and inclusion awareness. You will coordinate and oversee job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, and identifying improvement opportunities. Compliance with company policies and procedures will be crucial, as you will implement action plans to uphold the company's mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates.
  • Tour stores and provide feedback to associates through the Tour-to-Teach method.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations and company direction.
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates.
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives, ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses in designated business areas.
  • Monitor effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, and inventory flow.
  • Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales goals.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities and assignments with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the company's mission and values.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college education; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required for certain facilities.
  • Associates must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.
