About the position

As a leader at Walmart, you will be responsible for developing and managing teams effectively by employing a variety of strategies including teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. You will tour stores to provide feedback, communicate and collaborate with associates at all levels regarding store operations, and utilize technology to drive business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Your role will involve introducing and leading company change efforts, providing clear expectations, and guiding teams in implementing business solutions while effectively communicating business objectives. You will model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by adhering to the One Best Way (OBW) service model. This includes managing and supporting customer service initiatives, ensuring customer needs and complaints are resolved, and developing action plans to correct deficiencies. You will also provide leadership in process improvement to ensure a high-quality customer experience. In addition to customer service, you will drive the financial performance and sales of your designated store area by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses to ensure they align with sales. You will monitor merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes, developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. Your responsibilities will also include supervising and developing hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. You will set clear expectations, provide recognition, and ensure diversity and inclusion awareness while recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth potential. You will coordinate and oversee job-related activities by maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, and demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning. Compliance with company policies and procedures is essential, and you will support the company’s mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and providing guidance on executing business processes. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2 years of college education; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check and Firearms Authorized Training for facilities selling firearms.
  • Completion of all job-required trainings and assessments.

  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
