About the position

As a leader at Walmart, you will be responsible for developing and managing teams effectively by employing a variety of teaching and training methods. This includes actively listening to associates, touring stores to provide constructive feedback, and communicating with all levels of staff regarding store operations. You will utilize technology and business initiatives to guide your team in merchandising and aligning with company direction. Your role will also involve introducing and leading change efforts within the company, providing clear expectations, and guiding your team in implementing business solutions. You will be expected to communicate business objectives effectively to your teams, ensuring everyone is aligned with the company's goals. In addition to team leadership, you will model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates by adhering to the One Best Way (OBW) service model. This includes managing customer service initiatives, addressing customer needs, complaints, and issues, and developing action plans to correct deficiencies. You will also provide leadership in process improvement to ensure a high-quality customer experience. Financial performance is a key aspect of your role, where you will drive sales in your designated store area by reviewing and evaluating Profit & Loss (P&L) statements. You will assist in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses to ensure they are indexed to sales. Monitoring merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes will be part of your responsibilities, along with developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals. You will also provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring them. Setting clear expectations, providing recognition, and ensuring diversity and inclusion awareness will be essential in your role. You will coordinate job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans to meet customer and business needs. Compliance with company policies and procedures is crucial, and you will implement action plans to uphold the company's mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates.
  • Tour stores and provide feedback to associates.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations.
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts.
  • Provide clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year's retail experience and 1 year's supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year's supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training may be required for facilities that sell firearms.
  • Attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.
