About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional service to our members while ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting members with their pharmacy needs, processing prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) orders, and maintaining the pharmacy area in accordance with company policies and procedures. You will be expected to acknowledge members, identify their needs, and assist them with purchasing decisions, which may involve locating merchandise and resolving any issues or concerns they may have. In addition to member service, you will operate hardware such as cash registers and related equipment to process member purchases, handle payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges. You will also be responsible for stocking and securing pharmacy supplies and merchandise, entering prescription information, filing prescriptions, and completing necessary paperwork and documentation. Your role will require you to collaborate with managers, co-workers, and other business partners to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate progress effectively. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity is paramount. You will implement related action plans and utilize the Open Door Policy to address any concerns that arise in the execution of your duties. Responsibilities

  • Provide member service by acknowledging members and identifying their needs.
  • Assist members with purchasing decisions and locate merchandise as needed.
  • Resolve issues and concerns raised by members regarding pharmacy products and services.
  • Operate cash registers and related equipment to process member purchases and assist with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges.
  • Assist with processing prescription and OTC orders and purchases in accordance with company policies.
  • Stock and secure pharmacy supplies and merchandise, ensuring the pharmacy area is organized and maintained.
  • Enter prescription information and file prescriptions accurately, completing all required documentation.
  • Collaborate with managers, co-workers, and other business partners to complete work assignments and prioritize tasks.
  • Communicate progress and information effectively to ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.

Requirements

  • Must be a certified pharmacy technician with relevant certification and training.
  • Ability to operate cash registers and related equipment efficiently.
  • Strong customer service skills to assist members effectively.
  • Attention to detail for processing prescriptions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a retail pharmacy environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy products and services is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills may be beneficial for member interactions.
