About the position

The Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club is responsible for supporting the pharmacy operations by processing member purchases, maintaining merchandise presentation, and assisting in the prescription fulfillment process. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service to members. The technician will also handle various pharmacy-related tasks, including entering prescription data, filling prescriptions, and managing third-party insurance claims.

Responsibilities

• Processes member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
• Maintains merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies.
• Handles claims and returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitors and resolves problems in the prescription fulfillment process.
• Promotes and maintains the Pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting the pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process.
• Provides patient/member service in the Pharmacy area by acknowledging member needs and assisting with prescription orders.
• Enters prescription data into pharmacy software accurately.
• Fills prescriptions by retrieving orders and measuring medications as needed.
• Provides member assistance during prescription pick-up by verifying patient information.
• Completes work assignments and priorities by collaborating with managers and co-workers.

Requirements

• Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including minimum age and certification.
• Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA within 9 months of job entry.
