As a Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy department. Your primary responsibilities will include processing member purchases through cash registers and related hardware, while adhering to the appropriate procedures for various payment types and items sold. You will maintain the presentation of merchandise in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating products, removing damaged or expired goods, and organizing product displays to enhance the shopping experience for our members. Additionally, you will be responsible for securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise to prevent loss and ensure safety in the pharmacy area. In this position, you will also be tasked with maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures. This includes properly handling claims and returns, utilizing equipment for merchandising functions, and ensuring a safe work environment. You will monitor the prescription fulfillment process, resolving any issues that arise, such as processing third-party insurance claims and alerting patients to inventory shortages. Your role will involve assisting the pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process, which includes processing orders, maintaining documentation, and providing excellent customer service to our members. You will enter prescription data into pharmacy software, ensuring accuracy by transcribing necessary information and creating or modifying patient records. Filling prescriptions will be a key responsibility, requiring you to retrieve orders, measure medications, and label containers accurately. You will assist members during prescription pick-up by verifying information and ensuring compliance with corporate policies. Your ability to collaborate with managers, co-workers, and customers will be essential in completing work assignments and addressing improvement opportunities.
