About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. Your primary responsibilities will include processing member purchases through cash registers and related hardware, while adhering to the appropriate procedures for various payment types and items sold. You will maintain the presentation of merchandise in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating products received from distribution centers and suppliers, removing any damaged or out-of-date goods, and organizing product displays. Additionally, you will be responsible for securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise to prevent loss. In this role, you will also ensure that the pharmacy area complies with company policies and procedures. This includes properly handling claims and returns, utilizing equipment for merchandising functions such as pricing and creating signs, and maintaining a safe work environment. You will monitor and resolve issues in the prescription fulfillment process, which may involve processing information for third-party insurance claims, alerting patients to inventory issues, and identifying situations that require pharmacist intervention. Providing excellent patient/member service is a key aspect of your role. You will assist the pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process, process third-party insurance claims, and help patients with their prescription orders and purchases. You will also enter prescription data into pharmacy software, ensuring accuracy in transcribing prescription information and creating or modifying patient records. Filling prescriptions will involve retrieving orders, measuring medications, and labeling prescription containers. You will assist members during prescription pick-up by verifying patient information and ensuring compliance with corporate policies. Completing work assignments will require collaboration with managers and co-workers, identifying priorities, and adapting to changes as needed.
