About the position

As a Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy department. Your primary responsibilities will include processing member purchases through cash registers, maintaining merchandise presentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. You will be responsible for stocking and rotating merchandise, handling claims and returns, and ensuring a safe work environment. Additionally, you will monitor the prescription fulfillment process, assist pharmacists, and provide excellent customer service to members. Your role will also involve entering prescription data into pharmacy software, filling prescriptions accurately, and assisting members during prescription pick-up. You will be expected to complete work assignments efficiently while collaborating with managers and co-workers, and adhering to ethical standards and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
  • Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies.
  • Handle claims and returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and resolve problems in the prescription fulfillment process as necessary.
  • Promote and maintain the Pharmacy's professional reputation by assisting in the prescription fulfillment process.
  • Provide patient/member service by acknowledging member needs and assisting with prescription orders.
  • Enter prescription data into pharmacy software accurately.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving orders and measuring medications as needed.
  • Assist members during prescription pick-up by verifying patient information and logging sales.
  • Complete work assignments by collaborating with managers and co-workers and communicating progress.

Requirements

  • Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including minimum age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure as required by the State Board of Pharmacy.
  • Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.
